The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan are among the celebs who are paying tribute to Lisa Marie Presley, who died Thursday at the age of 54.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement. “We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
“It’s hard to take when someone so young and full of life passes on,” Wilson tweeted on Friday. “I feel so bad about Lisa Marie and I wish the best for her children and her family.”
Corgan added, “There is heartbreak and then there is sorrow. This would be sorrow and on more levels than I can count. I truly cannot find the words to express how sad this truly is.”
Also among the dozens of stars who have expressed their grief over Presley’s passing are John Travolta, LeAnne Rimes, Cary Elwes, Marlee Matlin, songwriter Diane Warren and Bette Middler, who says she’s “in shock.”
