If you missed it, Metallica dropped a brand new song last night.
Without any advance notice, the band shared “Screaming Suicide” on Thursday – the second single from their upcoming album 72 Seasons.
James Hetfield hopes the song can help break the “taboo” of talking about suicide.
“The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It’s ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another I believe most people have thought about it.” Hetfield explains, “To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it’s a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.”
Metallica celebrating the new song on social media. The band’s album “72 Seasons” will be out on April 14th.
Why is there such a stigma surrounding suicide and other mental health issues like depression? What can we do to change that?
