U2 have shared another ‘reimagined’ track from their upcoming album Songs of Surrender.
A stripped-down, acoustic version of “With Or Without You” was released over the weekend.
Songs of Surrender will include reimagined versions of 40 classic U2 songs spanning the band’s entire career. So far, fans have heard new versions of “With or Without You”, “Pride (In The Name Of Love)”, and “Beautiful Day”.
“Music allows you to time travel and so we started to imagine what it would be like to bring these songs back with us to the present day and give them the benefit or otherwise, of a 21st-century re-imagining.” Detailing the album, the band wrote, “What started as an experiment quickly became a personal obsession as so many early U2 songs yielded to a new interpretation.”
Frontman Bono says he is also itching to record new music and wants to make a “Captial-R Rock album.”
The album will be out on March 17th. What songs are you hoping appear on Songs of Surrender? Share your opinions on 107.7 The Bone’s Facebook or Twitter page.
