Radiohead Nearly Broke up Because of ‘Creep’

Today, Radiohead’s “Creep” is one of the most iconic songs in rock history. But back in 1993, its success nearly broke up the band.

Interviews from that era reveal that the members of Radiohead *hated* “Creep” and the success that came with it.

Frontman Thom Yorke once said “We were forced on tour to support it, and it gagged us, really. We were on the verge of breaking up.”

Meanwhile, guitarist Jonny Greenwod admits that the infamous ‘Ker-chunk’ guitar sound was an attempt at ‘sabotaging’ the song.
