The second week of Coachella was full of surprises – including an unannounced guest appearance by Dave Grohl.
The Foo Fighters frontman ran onstage screaming during Wet Leg’s set, at the end of “Ur Mum”.
Grohl didn’t stay long – he ran off stage shortly afterwards and Wet Leg launched into the next song.
Last week, Foo Fighters announced “But Here We Are“, their first new album since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The band calls the album “A brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year” – but also “A testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family”.
The first single, “Rescued”, seems to reference Hawkins’ death in its opening lines: “It came out of nowhere, it happened so fast… is this happening now?” The band has not revealed who plays drums on “Rescued”, or who will play drums on the band’s upcoming tour and festival dates.
