The members of Mammoth WVH kicked off their stint as Metallica’s opening act Thursday in Amsterdam, performing in the round for the first time.
Prior to the show, frontman Wolfgang Van Halen said he was nervous about opening for the legendary band. “It’s pretty wild,” he says. “I don’t know if it’s so much ‘looking forward to’ as it is having a meltdown in my head figuring out how we’re gonna play in the round. ‘Cause I’ve never done that in my life. So that’s gonna be definitely a trip to try and figure out. You can’t really rehearse that until you just do that.”
Mammoth WVH’s second album, Mammoth II, is due August 4th.
