San Francisco Public Library is curating a soundtrack for the Bay Area and it’s calling on local musicians to supply the tunes.

Music City SF’s mission is to “Provide a self-sustaining music-focused hub in the heart of San Francisco that music fans, performance artists, and professional musicians can discover diverse, music-centric experiences that inspire, educate, and entertain.”

As an added bonus, the Bay Area bands that are chosen to be featured on “Bay Beats” will receive a $250 reward! Submit your band here.

“Bay Beats” complete details:

  • Local musicians will have the opportunity to submit a selection of original tracks for inclusion in Bay Beats.
  •  A panel with strong ties to the diverse Bay Area music communities will review submissions and select albums.
  • If chosen and upon signing a licensing agreement, musicians receive an honorarium payment for their participation.
  • Anyone looking to delve into the vibrant local music scene can stream music on Bay Beats, while SFPL card holders can download albums.
  • Service is free
