Corey Taylor has a lot of gripes, but he’s still enough of a softy to release a love song.
The Slipknot frontman has shared a new solo song called “Beyond.”
“I originally wrote it as an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of ‘come together’ song,” Taylor said of “Beyond.” “Bringing the masses together, and letting them know that I want my music to take them beyond what they may think about me. Maybe they’ve had a misconception about me.”
Taylor added, “It’s not exactly a calling card, more like throwing the bat signal up and being ‘alright, let’s turn everything on its head.’ It’s almost a dual threat because now I look at it from two standpoints.”
Taylor’s second solo album, “CMFT 2,” will be out on September 15th.
Along with releasing the new song, “Beyond,” Taylor announced solo U.S. tour dates for the late summer and early fall!
Things will kick off in Denver on August 25th and wrap up at Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival on October 7th. Wargasm, Oxymorrons, and Luna Aura will serve as supporting acts for the dates.
