The Foo Fighters have released their 11th studio album “But Here We Are.”
The project, which features frontman Dave Grohl’s handwritten lyrics, is shaped by a tragic past year.
Legendary drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away while on tour in Colombia in March 2022, and just a few months later Grohl lost his mom. The album is dedicated to both Taylor Hawkins and Virginia Hanlon Grohl.
The record was described as a “Brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year.”
The theme is apparent from the opening lines of the album’s first single “Rescued,” which starts with, “It came in a flash / It came out of nowhere / It happened so fast / And then it was over.”
“Under You”, the band’s second single, continues the theme with the lyrics, “Think I’m gettin’ over it / There’s no gettin’ over it.”
