Avenged Sevenfold have officially dropped their new album, “Life Is But a Dream…”
The record is the band’s eighth studio release and first full-length in seven years and includes 11 all-new songs. Frontman M. Shadows says the record deals with universal anxieties, while at the same time offering up “a lot of mindfulness.”
Life Is But a Dream…, as described in a press release, “Is designed to provoke and inspire, courageously broadening the new wave of American heavy metal sound pioneered by the band with confidence, attitude and intention.”
The band teased the album by releasing the single “Nobody” in March.
“The new album was written and recorded over the span of four years, and inspired by the writing and philosophy of Albert Camus.” Avenged Sevenfold explains, “Our good friend and brilliant artist, Wes Lang, encapsulated our theme of existentialism through visual art for the album packaging.”
