Rod Stewart Wants to ‘Leave All the Rock ‘n’ Roll Stuff Behind’

Rod Stewart is apparently done with rock ‘n’ roll saying, “Everything has to come to an end sooner or later.”

The iconic rock singer dropped this revelation in a new BBC interview.

“I am actually stopping, I’m not retiring, but I want to move on to…” Stewart explained, “I had great success with ‘The Great American Songbook,’ all-American standards, and I’ve just done a swing album with Jools Holland, which is going to come out next year, so I want to go in that direction. I just want to leave all the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind — for a while, maybe.”

Stewart added, “I’m really looking forward to doing something else, especially singing with Jools’ band. It borders on rock ‘n’ roll anyway, it’s just not ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?'”

Stewart recently began a new venture with his own blended Scotch Whisky.

Wolfie’s Whisky, was reportedly designed to reflect Rod’s rock ‘n’ roll heritage and was inspired by the legendary musician’s early “hell-raising days”.

Stewart said, “Wolfie’s is a rascal of a thing, and with just a sip the whisky takes you back to the good old days. Fine-tuned and perfectly balanced, Wolfie’s is a delight both over ice and mixed into a favourite cocktail. It’s a fine tipple, whether you’re partying with friends, celebrating a Celtic win, or reminiscing with family. For me, Wolfie’s depicts the carefree behaviour of my more mischievous days and the excitement of what life still has to offer. Let the good times roll!”
