It sure doesn’t seem like Pink Floyd will ever reunite, thanks to the endless feuding between Roger Waters and David Gilmour.

But drummer Nick Mason thinks there’s one scenario that could get the band back together – actually saving the world.

Appearing on The Story Behind The Song podcast, Mason said “If by getting back together we could influence either saving the planet, world peace, or whatever…Hopefully, we’d step up.”

He added that “It would take a Nelson Mandela or someone like that to lead on it.”

Pink Floyd did reunite once for a good cause – the 2005 ‘Live 8’ concert in London.

Earlier this year, Waters re-recorded his own version of the Floyd classic “The Dark Side Of The Moon”.

Pink Floyd celebrated the 50th anniversary of “The Dark Side of the Moon” on March 1st. Shortly after, the band released a special box set to commemorate the album, with a remastered edition on CD and vinyl, as well as Blu-Ray and DVD audio with both original and remastered versions.
