Smashing Pumpkins have shared a new video to promote their album “Atum.”
The band released a video for the song “Spellbinding,” directed by Kevin Kerslake. Kerslake first worked with the band for the video for “Cherub Rock.”
“We adopted a virtual production model for the ‘Spellbinding’ video, creating it entirely in the gaming engine; unreal, with digital avatars moving through fantastical worlds that play a key role in the ATUM storyline.” Kerslake explained, “Billy and I share an interest in the fusion of old-world elements with state-of-the-art technology, and all the stars aligned on this video to break new ground.”
Fans can catch Smashing Pumpkins on their “The World is a Vampire” tour with Interpol and Stone Temple Pilots. Stone Temple Pilots will join the first half of the tour, and Interpol will join the back half.
Frontman Billy Corgan described the tour as “A true alternative festival, where all the self-proclaimed weirdos and outsiders of the world can get together and have a party”.
The tour kicks off July 28th with two shows in Las Vegas, Nevada and wraps up September 9th in Noblesville, Indiana. ‘The World Is A Vampire’ will make a stop at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
