Gene Simmons says the planned KISS biopic “Shout It Out Loud” is still in the works – and he doesn’t appreciate it when people act impatient about its release.
The flick, which is supposedly being released in 2024, hasn’t even begun filming yet, Simmons admits. But in a bizarre analogy, the singer-bassist says movies, like babies, don’t fully develop overnight.
“People don’t understand — you meet a girl and she says, ‘I’m pregnant,’” he says. “Then next week you say, ‘Where’s the baby?’ And you keep asking week after week after week. People don’t understand that movies take years. The movie will come out after we stop touring.”
Back in March, KISS’s longtime manager Doc McGhee said “We’re just starting it now…We’ve already sold it. It’s already done…So that’s moving along. And that’ll come in ’24.”
If Simmons and McGhee are correct, cameras ought to start rolling soon. KISS’ “End of the Road Tour” wraps up on December 2nd at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
