Jimi Hendrix’s Guitar up for Sale for $1.25 Million

Jimi Hendrix’s 1961 Epiphone Wilshire guitar is up for sale.

The mahogany-bodied instrument will be sold through Moments in Time auctions and has a 1.25-million-dollar price tag attached to it.

Moments in Time promises, “The Authenticity of ALL material offered for sale is guaranteed without time limitations, for full refund of purchase price.”

When Jimi was discharged from the army in 1962, he traded in his Danelectro for the Wilshire, and ended up paying an extra $65 for it.

Jimi played the Wilshire in his early days with his group, The King Kasuals. Hendrix is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. At the age of 27, Hendrix passed away in London in 1970 following a drug overdose.
