Sir Elton John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour is the first to break the $900 million mark.
The Rocket Man’s goodbye tour recently became the highest grossing tour in Boxscore history, passing Ed Sheeran’s ‘The Divide Tour.’
According to Billboard Boxscore, the ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’ has now grossed $910.4 million through June 18, making it the first tour to ever break the $900 million barrier.
Ed Sheeran and U2 held the previous records with $776.4 million, and $736.4 million respectively.
Five years after it began, Elton John’s farewell tour wrapped up over the weekend on Saturday in Stockholm, Sweden.
Before playing the final encore (“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, naturally) Elton thanked the fans and promised he’d be back “quicker than you think”. The tour began all the way back in 2018 and included 330 shows all across the globe.
