Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death has been determined.
Dr. Juan M. Carrillo, an L.A. County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report revealed that Lisa Marie died from complications from a small bowel obstruction. Toxicology reports also found therapeutic levels of oxycodone and the opioid buprenorphine – a drug used to treat opioid use disorder. Small traces of an antipsychotic drug called quetiapine were also found.
“There is no evidence of injury or foul play. The manner of death is deemed natural,” Carrillo concluded.
Unfortunately, constipation is a side effect of buprenorphine, which can cause bowel obstruction. Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of the late Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, died on January 12th, 2023.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement when the news was first announced. “We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Lisa Marie Presley is buried next to her son Benjamin Keough on the grounds of Graceland, a representative revealed.
