Five Finger Death Punch made its triumphant return to the stage over the weekend.
The band performed a headlining set at the York State Fair in York, PA, after a seven-month hiatus while lead singer Ivan Moody recovered from surgery to repair an acute hernia injury.
Moody revealed back in April that he had injured himself during a video shoot. The band released a post on Instagram saying, “As many of you know, Ivan [Moody] recently had surgery to correct an acute hernia injury. The recovery proved more challenging than initially thought and on the advice of his doctors, Ivan and Five Finger Death Punch will not be able to perform the show in Amsterdam with Metallica.”
The band was forced to cancel its summer European tour, as well as a number of dates opening for Metallica on its ‘M72’ tour.
The band thanked Metallica for “Their unwavering support of the band and of Ivan during this tough time.”
The band shared a clip thanking fans in York on social media. Find all upcoming tour dates here.
