Shane Hawkins, the son of late drummer Taylor Hawkins is proving yet again he’s his father’s son.
Over the weekend, Shane joined the covers band Chevy Metal on stage at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. Taylor Hawkins started Chevy Metal while the Foo Fighters were on break in 2013. Shane performed two songs: Led Zeppelin’s Moby Dick and Black Sabbath’s “The Wizard.” The performance raised money for the Rock & Roll Rescue dog shelter/adoption service.
This isn’t the first time Shane has performed for a crowd. Shane joined the Foo Fighters on stage during the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert to play the drums for the song “My Hero.” The concert, which was filmed at Wembley Stadium on September 3rd, picked up an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special!”
Shane won Drumeo’s “Performance Of The Year” prize for his contributions to the Foo Fighters’ “My Hero” at London’s Wembley Stadium and at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
