Lamont & Tonelli interviewed Kelly Hansen about Foreigner’s Farewell Tour.
While discussing his decision to announce a Farewell tour, Hansen explained:
I made this decision was because these songs are hard to sing when you’re 30 and it’s a wonderful catalogue of songs and I’m very, very fortunate to be able to be in this band and singing these songs.
But, it gets harder and harder to do every year. I don’t want to be one of those guys, from one of those bands that we all know, that are out there sucking and not giving the catalog or their fans what they deserve. So that’s all part of the process. You know, I really feel strong and we want to go out on top doing the songs the way they should be, giving 100%…that’s really important to me just as a human being.
Hansen continued, “I just personally feel like if you’re out there on the road, sampling everything and putting stuff up computer and not really playing live, then you’re cheating the people who supported you for decades…I think that that’s just morally [and] ethically wrong. I think it’s bad for your spirit and I wouldn’t do it.”
Fans can watch Foreigner & Loverboy perform live at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA on Thursday, August 24th at 7pm.
