Aerosmith kicks off their “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour” this Saturday, September 2nd in Philadelphia, but they’ll be without one of their original members.
Drummer Joey Kramer is not participating in the tour.
When the tour was announced, the band said in a statement, “While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health.”
Kramer’s relationship with Aerosmith has been strained over the past few years. At one point, Kramer filed a lawsuit against the band for reportedly being asked to audition for the band again after time off due to an injury in 2019.
Ahead of this weekend’s kick off, Aerosmith gave a sneak peek at its upcoming show. The band posted a few photos of the stage setup to social media on Monday, as well as a shot of Steven Tyler and Joe Perry rehearsing on stools.
The 40-date trek will stop twice in the Bay Area – once at San Francisco’s Chase Center on Friday, December 1st, and again at San Jose’s SAP Center on Monday, December 4th. The farewell tour will end on January 26th in Montreal.
