Metallica is celebrating another milestone.
The band’s classic power ballad “Nothing Else Matters” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.
Spotify shared the news on X yesterday writing, “Welcome to the club, Metallica Nothing Else Matters has joined the #billionsclub.”
Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” is already included in the “Billions Club.”
A total of 466 songs are currently in the Billions Club – the most recent addition was One Direction’s “Drag Me Down.” The exclusive club also includes Survivor’s 1982 classic “Eye Of The Tiger” and the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun.” Seven years ago, Drake became the first artist to have a song reach one billion plays on Spotify with his smash “One Dance,” from the 2016 album “Views.”
Doubling down on the Billions Club, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” surpassed two billion streams on Spotify. Other Queen songs that have at least one billion streams on the platform include “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Under Pressure”, and “We Will Rock You.”
