Foreigner was joined by two former members at a recent show in Connecticut.
Original keyboardist Al Greenwood and former bassist Rick Wills joined the band for an encore of “I Want To Know What Love Is” and “Hot Blooded”.
Foreigner launched their farewell tour in July, which is currently scheduled to end in March of 2024.
While talking to Lamont & Tonelli, Foreigner’s singer Kelly Hansen shared the reasoning for a farewell tour explaining:
I don’t want to be one of those guys, from one of those bands that we all know, that are out there sucking and not giving the catalog or their fans what they deserve. So that’s all part of the process. You know, I really feel strong and we want to go out on top doing the songs the way they should be, giving 100%…that’s really important to me just as a human being.
“I just personally feel like if you’re out there on the road…[and] not really playing live, then you’re cheating the people who supported you for decades.” Hansen continued, “I think that that’s just morally [and] ethically wrong. I think it’s bad for your spirit and I wouldn’t do it.”
