The 49ers bowled over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the season opener with a 30-7 road win. Now, they’ll head to friendlier environs in Southern California to face the Los Angeles Rams, fresh off a surprise, 27-13 win on the road in Seattle.
According to oddsmakers, the expectation is that the Rams’ unlikely success will not repeat in Week 2.
According to multiple sites, including PointsBet, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanduel, and DraftKings, the 49ers are favored by eight points over the Rams. BetMGM has the line at -8.5 for San Francisco.
It’s not a major surprise given the 49ers’ performance against the Steelers and the Rams’ bizarre, rookie-heavy roster. The likes of Pooka Nacua and Tutu Atwell shocked folks, each going for 119 receiving yards in Week 1.
San Francisco has beaten the Rams in eight of their last nine meetings… except for the 2021 NFC Championship.
The Rams haven’t secured a win against the 49ers in the regular season since 2018, and have often provided a spark for the 49ers with key wins at tumultuous times in the season.
