Trent Williams punches Giant during skirmish

Things got a little frisky at the end of the first half of 49ers-Giants.

On a 49ers kneel down to end the half, Giants defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson decided to go hard into 49ers guard Aaron Banks, despite the fact that nobody else was going full speed. Trent Williams took issue with Robinson, pushing him and then punching him in the helmet as the two teams began to skirmish.

Both Robinson and Williams were issued offsetting personal foul penalties, forcing both teams to retake the field for another meaningless kneel down.

It was a frustrating half for the Giants, who were far from dominated by the 49ers but trailed 17-6.
