Lamont & Tonelli interviewed Rush lead singer Geddy Lee about his early touring days, his upcoming book “My Effin’ Life in Conversation” and a potential Rush reunion.
Lee is hitting the road this fall for a “My Effin’ Life in Conversation” Tour, beginning on November 13th in New York, stopping at The Masonic in San Francisco on November 26th, and concluding on December 7th in Toronto.
Tickets for “My Effin’ Life in Conversation” will go on sale to the general public on Friday. Each ticket purchased includes a copy of the book, which will be released on November 14th.
Teasing what fans can expect in “My Effin’ Life in Conversation”, Lee said, “There are some good stories from those days when we were broke and traveling and in borrowed vans, etc, etc. So those days are really fun to think about, I have to say and the most fun I had writing this book was, was remembering all those touring stories, especially the ones where things went wrong.”
Fans will be glad to hear Lee share an update on his relationship with Rush guitarist, Alex Lifeson.
“Alex and I talk on a very regular basis. He lives 10 minutes away from me and he’s still my BFF and I like to think that I’m still his despite what he says about me in public.” Lee continued, “We’re buds and we do a lot together, we hang out together.”
When asked if there if any possibility of a Rush reunion, Lee said,
“Yes, of course there is always the possibility that we could do something again. We have no firm plans at this point to do so. But, that could change at a heartbeat. We don’t really plan ahead anymore, and we take things as they come. But, ever since we did those two tribute shows for Taylor Hawkins our dear departed pal, it reminded us how much fun we have together on stage. So, it did plant the seed, but as to when or if that will happen, I can’t say.”
As an extra bonus, Lee shares his inspiration for the “Distant Early Warning” music video and expert knowledge of wine and mustard. Listen to Geddy Lee’s complete conversation with Chasta, Lamont & Tonelli below.
