The Rolling Stones have achieved a unique accomplishment that few artists will likely be able to do.
With the release of their new album, “Hackney Diamonds,” the iconic band has a top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart in every decade since the 1960s. The band is now the artist with most top 10 albums of all time – with 38 in total.
“Hackney Diamonds” debuted at no. 3 in the latest Billboard 200 album chart.
In addition to the no. 3 spot, The Rolling Stones are the first band in Britain to gross a billion dollars.
Ahead of the album’s release, the band released “Angry,” the first single off their new album, and “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” which features Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga.
Then, to celebrate the album’s release, the band held a surprise performance with Lady Gaga at the Racket NYC.
Lead singer Mick Jagger joked that doing another New York launch was part of the motivation for making the new record saying, “We were missing the launches so much we had to go back and make another album.”
The band closed with an appearance by Lady Gaga for “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.”
