Depeche Mode Frontman Stops Concert To Break Up Fight

Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan practiced what he preaches on Friday when he stopped a performance of “Never Let Me Down Again” to help out a fan who was on the losing end of a fight.

The incident happened during a Depeche Mode show at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena. After telling the band to “stop the song,” the 61-year-old Gahan peered down into the crowd and told the fighting men, “Hey, nothing’s that important,” video reveals. He then watched as security personnel tended to one of the men, asking, “Are you OK? Are you OK?” After a minute, a bemused Gahan turned to the rest of the audience and said, “He’s lost his f***ing phone. That’s what he’s worried about: his phone,” the video shows.

After leaning down and slapping hands with the fan, he and the rest of the band restarted the song and finished the concert without any further interruptions.
