One Of ZZ Top’s Biggest Hits Was Inspired By A Real-Life Brothel

YouTube, @ZZ Top.

One of ZZ Top’s biggest hits was inspired by a real-life Texas brothel.

Billy Gibbons says “La Grange” is about The Chicken Ranch, a brothel located outside La Grange, Texas that dates back to 1905.

Gibbons says the Ranch was a “rite of passage” for young men in his day, with a Madam named ‘Miss Edna’ that was “always ready to crack the whip.”

“La Grange” isn’t the only work of art based on The Chicken Ranch – it’s also the inspiration for the movie The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.
