Metallica won Best Metal Performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards for their song “72 Seasons” from their 2023 album.

Bassist Robert Trujillo accepted the award during the streaming “Premiere Ceremony”. They were the only heavy act to win this year, beating out Disturbed, Ghost, Slipknot, and Spiritbox.

Metallica now holds nine Grammy awards, the most for any metal band. Trujillo thanked their producer and recording team, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in music.

Fans can catch Metallica on their “M72 World Tour,” including a North American leg later this year. See the full list of winners from this year’s Grammy Awards, click here.
