Metalhead Achieves Guinness World Record for Most Band Tattoos

A 33-year-old Norwegian metal fan, Tom Engelbrecht, clinches the Guinness World Record for the most Metallica tattoos, boasting a total of 43 on his body as of December 5, 2023.

Engelbrecht recounts that his affinity for Metallica blossomed after attending his first concert in 2007, initially drawn by their reputation but ultimately captivated by their performance.

He credits Metallica with helping him navigate mental health struggles, describing their music as therapeutic and deeply meaningful. His tattoos include album and DVD covers, action shots of band members, and other iconic imagery, with his right side fully adorned from foot to arm.

He notes that while he has 46 tattoos overall, 43 are officially counted for the record, with three being duplicates.
