Lemmy Kilmister will soon be immortalized in clay.
The late Motorhead frontman’s hometown in Staffordshire, England has commissioned a sculptor to create a statue of Kilmister, which will be put on display in the town of Burslem’s Market Place, officials announced Monday. The 7-foot, 5-inch sculpture, which is being made by artist Andy Edward, will be constructed out of Staffordshire clay, according to Burslem officials.
When complete, the statue will be the third of its kind. A sculpture of Kilmister stands in the Hellfest festival grounds in Clisson, France, and another is on display at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood.
