Kirk Hammett has already cast his vote for best guitar solo of 2024 – even if he didn’t know who played it.
The Metallica guitarist has been raving about Kerry King’s new song “Idle Hands”, which features a solo from Machine Head’s Phil Demmel.
Demmel says word got back to him that Hammett thought it was “the solo of the year”. When he reached out to Hammett, Kirk told him “Oh my god, I thought that was Kerry.”
