Andrew Watt has been waiting his whole life to produce a Pearl Jam album.

The 33-year-old producer told Rolling Stone he became a Pearl Jam fan at age five, when his older brother introduced him to the band’s debut album Ten.

He ended up meeting Eddie Vedder years later, joined his touring band, and produced Vedder’s 2022 solo album Earthling.

Vedder enjoyed working with Watt so much he persuaded Pearl Jam to hire him for their new album Dark Matter, which will be out Friday.
