Papa Roach Shares “Born for Greatness” and “Periscope”

Papa Roach released two new songs, “Born For Greatness” and “Periscope,” in the same day for their upcoming ninth album Crooked Teeth, out May 19. Two other singles, “Crooked Teeth” and “Help,” were leaked about a month ago and have already been voted #1 on Active Rock radio.

Crooked Teeth revamps the classic elements of old Papa Roach into a modern, heavier, and adventurous version of the Vacaville rock band. Drummer Tony Palermo tells Team Rock:

This collection of songs was really about bookending everything that we’ve done prior to this album and reintroducing Papa Roach to people who didn’t realise the depth that we have.

Altpress shares singer Jacoby Shaddix thoughts about their anticipated album:

This is a very dynamic album. It ranges from heavy and in your face with songs like ‘Crooked Teeth,’ and then it also has a pop sensibility in it, like ‘Help’. Then there’s stuff that’s kind of grimey, street hip-hop. It’s all over the place. I’ve always been a big fan of hip-hop. There’s some new artists that I really am a big fan of, Machine Gun Kelly (who is also a feature guest in the album) in particular. And then I had this track called ‘Sunrise Trailer Park,’ and I needed a guest spot, and I played him ‘Crooked Teeth,’ and he was just, like, ‘Dude, P-Roach is back! This is so sick!’ So I was, like, ‘Hey, I’ve got this track I would love for you to be on.’ And so it was very organic.

Fans can pre-order Crooked Teeth with a variety of bundles. While most bands would include autographs of their merchandise and digital downloads, Papa Roach amps it up by giving away a baby prop from the 2002 lovehatetragedy album, a custom voicemail greeting, a personal Happy Birthday serenade, and a private acoustic performance in your own backyard!
