J. Geils Band Founder Dies

John Warren Geils Jr, known to music fans as J. Geils and the founder of The J. Geils Band, has died.  The musician was found dead at his home in Groton, Massachusetts.

Few details have yet been released and it is not known the cause of his death.  He was 71 years old.

The J. Geils Band released 11 studio albums since their inception in 1967 and have toured with The Eagles, ZZ Top, U2 and many others throughout their career.
