Guns N’ Roses, The Who announce joint tour

Two of Rock’s most iconic groups will be joining forces this summer, as the bands announced several joint shows to be held in South America. From Blabbermouth:

On October 1, GUNS N’ ROSES and THE WHO will join forces for a concert at Estadio Único De La Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The two megastar bands are also rumored to be planning joint performances in several cities in Brazil as well as in Peru and Chile.

Metallica opening up pop-up shops around U.S.

James Hetfield and the gang announced they will be opening up pop-up shops across the country in line with their upcoming “TheWorldWired Tour”. From Billboard:

To gain the fullest Metallica experience, the pop-up store series will begin with a Manhattan location, stationed at address 96 Spring Street, right before their MetLife Stadium gig on Sunday, May 14.

Current dates & times for the New York store:

May 12 – 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
May 13 – 10 p.m.
May 14 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Along with the New York location, other cities and dates for the pop-ups have been listed — store’s hours are still TBD.

St. Louis, Missouri: June 2 – June 4
Houston, Texas: June 9 – June 11
Chicago, Illinois: June 16 – June 18
Atlanta, Georgia: July 7 – July 9
Toronto, Ontario: July 14 – July 16
Los Angeles, California: July 27 – July 29
San Diego, California: August 4 – August 6
San Francisco, California: August 11 – August 13

Live At Webster Hall from Metallica will be released Friday

Metallica performed at the legendary Webster Hall last September before a select audience, but the tracks from that performance will now be released to the general public on vinyl. From Ultimate Classic Rock:

The concert included fan favorites from throughout Metallica’s career, including “Battery,” “Sad but True,” “One,” “Master of Puppets” and “Enter Sandman” The show, and album, also includes the band’s cover of the traditional “Whiskey in the Jar” (with a nod to Thin Lizzy‘s version) and the debut of “Moth Into Flame,” from the Hardwired … to Self-Destruct album.

The limited-edition set was newly remastered for 140 gram vinyl and includes a digital download of the entire album. Right now, it’s available only at Metallica’s official website, but fans can also purchase the LP at pop-up stores in select cities on their North American WorldWired 2017 Tour, which launches on May 10 in Baltimore.
