Four of the five original members of Foreigner rejoined on stage on Thursday night for the first time since 1980.
Mick Jones and the current Foreigner lineup welcomed former members, singer Lou Gramm, keyboardist Al Greenwood and saxaphone/multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald to perform a three-song encore at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, N.Y. Original drummer Dennis Elliott was the lone absence in the reunion. The members played some of their hits including: “Long, Long Way From Home,” “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Hot Blooded.”

It was great to have Lou, Al and Ian join us on stage last night, and certainly brought back some special memories. All the original guys are out there playing live shows and working on studio projects. A performance by the entire original band for a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction next year would be a great way to cap off our 40th Anniversary celebrations.
Earlier this year, Gramm said the band would get back together for a 40th Anniversary tour.
