Last weekend Foo Fighters and Rick Astley were both on the same bill at the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan. During their set, Foo Fighters invited Rick Astley onstage to perform his biggest hit single-turned-viral meme, “Never Gonna Give You Up”. Foo Fighters trolled the audience by playing the song in the style of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Only after Rick Astley began singing the lyrics to “Never Gonna Give You Up” did the onstage RickRoll become evident. Watch the video below.
