Hey Boneheads, System of a Down haven’t played a US show in almost three years, since 2015’s Riot Fest, but from the new teaser video below it looks like they might be performing at this year’s Aftershock Festival in Sacramento.
Aftershock Festival just released a teaser video letting fans know the full lineup announcement will be revealed on April 9th, 2018. Along with telling everyone this year’s festival will be on Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA.
Watch the video teaser below, looks like the first band they are dangling in front of us is System of a Down.
For all of us die-hard System of A Down fans will immediately recognize that riff as “Prison Song” from their 2001 album Toxicity. Listen to the full song below.
Another clue was spotted by a fan in the comments section of the Aftershock video who said one of the stills in the teaser is the band’s self-titled debut album, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year (Boy, do I feel old now).

After watching this teaser video, I have a lot of questions in regards to System of a Down’s future. Will this be System of a Down’s only show in 2018? Will the band perform any new music? Are there any plans on releasing a new album and/or touring?
