RIP Russ Solomon the Founder of Tower Records

Russ Solomon has passed away at the age of 92. The founder of Tower Records was watching the Academy Awards from his Sacramento-area home on Sunday when he suffered a heart attack and died.

“Ironically, he was giving his opinion of what someone was wearing that he thought was ugly, then asked (his wife) Patti to to refill his whisky,” said his son, Michael Solomon.

When Patti returned Russ was dead.
