Foo Fighters started their US tour with a band this past Wednesday night in Austin, Texas.
During the show, Dave Grohl invited a fan, who was wearing full Gene Simmons of KISS makeup and a Motorhead t-shirt, onto the stage to play the Foo Fighers’ classic song “Monkey Wrench.”
As you can see in the video below Dave Grohl asked the fan “What’s your name, KISS guy?” however, the fan was too amazed to answer. Dave Grohl then continued, “F*** it, I don’t even wanna know. Your name is ‘KISS Guy’ right now.”
Dave Grohl then handed KISS Guy his guitar and they launched into a seven-minute version of “Monkey Wrench.” KISS guy took advantage of this opportunity to shred a few impromptu solos, much to Dave Grohl’s delight.
At the end of the song, Dave Grohl gave KISS Guy the Wayne’s World “We’re not worthy” bow.
Foo Fighters are on tour in support of their new album, “Concrete and Gold” and will be at the SAP Center in San Jose on Wednesday, September 12th.
