The first half of 49ers-Saints lived up to the hype and then some. The two teams combined for eight touchdowns before halftime, none more impressive than the 35-yard strike by Emmanuel Sanders to Raheem Mostert with six minutes remaining in the second quarter.
Yes, you read that correctly. Sanders looked like QB1 after receiving a lateral on a backfield reverse from Deebo Samuel, only to find a Saints rusher in his face. Instead of tucking the ball, Sanders threw a seed off his back foot to Raheem Mostert for a touchdown.
Sanders also scored as a receiver on a 75-yard touchdown earlier in the quarter.
