49ers open as underdogs vs. Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV

The 49ers were dominant and efficient, a bullying squad that ran right through the NFC playoffs, including a 37-20 beatdown of the Packers on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, getting them to Super Bowl LIV.

But so were the Chiefs on the other side of the bracket.

The early lines are out, and Kansas City appears to generally be slight favorites. According to Bet Online, the Chiefs are favored by 1 1/2. LV Westgate Superbook, at game’s end, gave the edge to Kansas City by 1, with an over/under of 52.5. Bet 365 opened at Chiefs by 1, rose to 1 1/2 and then sunk back to 1.

If this holds, it’ll be the first time this playoffs that San Francisco is the underdog.

It’ll be a matchup of the most electrifying offense in the NFL — Kansas City just put up 35 points on Tennessee in the AFC Championship — against the NFL’s top defense (and a modern offense that just ran for 285 yards against Green Bay). Miami will be fun.
