Needless to say, the world is still reacting to the passing of Eddie Van Halen. His son, Wolf Van Halen, broke the news yesterday afternoon that his father passed at age 65 after a decade long battle with throat cancer. Wolf shared “I can’t believe I have to write this…my heart is broken and I don’t think i’ll ever fully recover from this lose.”

His wife Janie Liszewski, who married Eddie in 2009, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram. In an open letter, she writes: “I never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness.”

Wolfgang’s mother and Van Halen’s ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli also reacted to the news sharing “You gave me the one true light in my life, our son, Wolfgang.”
