With new COVID cases surging across the Bay Area, San Francisco and San Mateo counties were relegated Saturday from the Red Tier to the Purple Tier on the state’s COVID monitoring scale, triggering a new wave of restrictions on local businesses.
“A new stay-at-home order – prohibiting residents from leaving their homes to gather with other households from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – also takes effect at 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30.” Reported California Department of Public Health, Health and Human Services Agency’s press release.
#COVID19 infections are rising in #SF. Starting tonight at 10PM we will be under the State’s Limited Stay at Home Order requiring residents to avoid any gatherings (both indoors & outdoors) & non-essential businesses will close from 10PM-5AM daily: https://t.co/8aZdJCagRP. pic.twitter.com/G5FkOFv9FV

The curfew comes after San Francisco entered the purple tier over the weekend. Mayor London Breed explained in addition to a curfew, “Outdoor dining, indoor retail, indoor personal services, outdoor fitness & limited indoor 1-on-1 personal training at gyms or fitness centers may continue. Outdoor playgrounds, skate parks w/ limited capacity, batting cages, mini golf, outdoor zoos, & museums may remain open.”
Unfortunately as we expected, San Francisco has been placed on the State’s most restrictive “purple” tier due the surge in COVID-19 cases.
Here’s what this means for us and what we all need to do to reduce this alarming trend:

Residents are reminded, “We all need to do our part, now more than ever, to stop the spread of COVID-19. That means doubling down on the things we’ve all been doing: wearing a mask, keeping your distance from others, not gathering with people outside your household, and washing your hands frequently.
