That One Christmas Dave Grohl Spent It on Mushrooms

Dave Grohl recently told a story about the time he was a teenager and took mushrooms at one of his casual family Christmas parties, where some of his teachers were in attendance. No, he didn’t invite them, but his Mom did – as she was also a teacher at the time, and some of Dave’s teachers were his Mom’s friends! Anyway, it was the first time Dave tried mushrooms, and you can imagine where the story goes from here…he was out of his mind in front of his teachers, Mom, and friends. After everyone left, he tried to learn the Led Zeppelin song “Bron-Yr-Aur” on guitar, but surprisingly couldn’t figure it out. Maybe that was from the mushrooms.

You can read the full story here from UltimateClassicRock.com. And just cuz we feel like spreading the love, here’s a look back at Saturday Night Live from 2017 when the Foo Fighters performed a killer Christmas medley, featuring “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” as well as “Linus and Lucy” (and “Everlong”).
