WATCH: Foo Fighters Cover Queen’s Somebody to Love

Youtube, lucid

Since lockdown, live shows have been talked about as if they were a thing of the past. Well, on June 15th California reopened as it’s COVID cases lulled to a near stop and the Foo Fighters immediately took to the stage in Agoura Hills, California and graced us with quite a reintroduction to live music.

Drummer Taylor Hawkins, who has written several Foo Fighters songs and even has his own side project, was called front and center by singer Dave Grohl where they revealed they would be doing a special cover of Queen’s Somebody to Love.

While matching the presence and vocals of Freddie Mercury is typically a monstrous feat, Hawkins commanded the roll. Though the typical drummer uniform of shorts and a tee did seem a little disjunctive from the usual Freddie fashion bomb.

What a special moment for music lovers to be reunited with their favorite bands. What’s the first show you plan to see?
