Musician Transforms Harp Into Heavy Metal Masterpiece

YouTube, @Emily Hopkins.

You may not think of the harp as a heavy metal instrument, but one musician may change your mind. Musician Emily Hopkins shared in a video that she searched out for the “heaviest” distortion pedal she could find to give her harp-playing a metal edge. The device is the Electrofoods Nepenthes and Hopkins describes in on her Youtube video as making “the harp sound like a BEAST.”

Check out Hopkins’ video transforming the harp into something straight out of a metal album over on her Youtube channel.

What other instruments do you think could be transformed thanks to a little device? Do you think this type of harp-playing should be in more music?
