Myles Kennedy Aims to ‘Elevate the Spirit’ With the Return of Live Music, Talks His Writing Process and Quitting Coffee With Chasta

Chasta chats with Myles Kennedy about returning to live music post-COVID-19.

The two chat about staying creative during the pandemic, where Kennedy adds “I had nothing to do other than write songs and hang out with my family.” Ready to get back on the road, Myles is ‘just excited to play again.” He emotionally recalls one of his first shows back, standing backstage at a theater in Kansas City where ‘the audience was so amazing and so happy to be in the same room together, experiencing music together; and it’s a night probably I’ll never forget. It was extra special obviously because of the drought of live music.”

When it comes to his writing process, Myles notes that he compart metalizes and goes into it knowing his deadlines. He does however have a shelf life for songs “Yeah, I’m that guy – I’m that moody artist, weirdo.” He adds that releasing songs with sincerity is key, and “sometimes songs just feel dated for you, and it can just be the lyrical content to where you just don’t relate anymore.”

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will be coming to The Warfield on Saturday, February 12, 2022 and tickets are available now at axs.com
